Palo Santo Essential Oil

Bursura graveolens Wood, only from naturally fallen wood is sustainable, sourced usually in Ecuador. This tree grows in the forest for about 40 years before it dies. Then, it has to lie down for about 10 more years before it is processed. No harm need be  done to the Palo Santo trees in gathering this Holy wood. The essential oil is steam distilled from this wood. With everything I import I do my best to source ethically. One must be careful of sources and especially when a tree may be in a state of peril if over harvested.  

PaloSanto is an ecologically and sustainably harvested wood gathered on Ecuador's Pacific coast.

           This Earthy and Spiritual aroma is used in Sacred rituals for purification and protection. It has numerous benefits for the biological body also. Utilizing the properties of this essential oil by adding it to a synergy will enhance the immune system. Palo Santo is recognized for having valuable traits, such as being antibacterial and anti inflammatory.

In Spanish Palo Santo is referred to as "Holy wood". This tree belongs to the same family (Burseraceae) as Frankincense and Myrrh. There are many traditional uses of Palo Sant in South America, especially in Ecuador. The Palo Santo or "Sacred Wood" tree from which the oil derives has an ancient ethnobotanical history and has long been worshiped by indigenous cultures for its purifying powers. According to the local customs, it is used by Shamans to diminish "mala energia" (bad energy).The wood is used for both Blessing and banishing. It even deters pesky insects.

          This treasured essence will uplift the Spirit and the emotions as it clears away negative aspects that may be in the surrounding energy field. Sacred smoky and grounding effects are calming and therefore excellent to create a vibrational field for meditation and  peaceful contemplation.  One effective way to energize your consciousness is to place a drop of the essential oil into the palm of your hand and then rub the hands together as you bring them up to the nose to allow the deep and effective qualities they offer into the olfactory system. Inhale deeply, focusing on intention. 

Rubbing onto the soles of the feet is very calming and protective as well.
